Tied with Intention: Our Shibari Empowerment Photoshoot at the Beach
Chris and I held our Shibari empowerment photoshoot day recently. Chris on the ropes and me as photographer.
We had three incredible women join us — one was the winner of our giveaway (and what a beautiful soul she is!), and two others came along to be part of something unique, raw, and deeply powerful. None of them had done anything like this before, and yet, each arrived with an open heart and a willingness to explore themselves in a new way.
Shibari, is not about restraint — it’s about release.
It’s about letting go of the pressure to always be in control.
It’s about finding softness in strength.
It’s about handing over a little bit of power and discovering, in the process, just how much power has been inside you all along!
There were nerves, of course that comes with the unknown. But there were also so many laughs, so much lightness. It was just so much FUN!
Chris is fantastic. He’s very particular with consent, trust, and safety. He made each woman feel so safe - they put their full trust in him (and me) and with their consent (and prior to the photoshoot, a safety questionaire filled out) he safely tied them. It was vulnerable, yes. But also exhilarating. Because when you see yourself tied in beauty and softness — without shame, without needing to change a thing — something shifts.
You start to see yourself through the lens of possibility rather than limitation.
This wasn’t just a photoshoot. It was a moment in time that we all left feeling a little braver, a little more grounded in ourselves. And the best part? So much laughter. So much cheekiness. So much life.
To the women who joined us: thank you. Your courage, your energy, and your laughter made the day what it was <3
To everyone watching from the sidelines: don’t underestimate what’s possible when you show up for yourself in ways you never have before. You might just find you’ve been waiting for this version of you all along!!
